Follow My Book Blog Friday (37)

This is a meme hosted every Friday by Parajunkee, where book bloggers answer a question each week and check out how others answered it. It's a cool way for bloggers and viewers to connect and learn more about each other!

Question: Have you ever had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with then "broke up" with later on in either the series or a stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her.

Answer:

So, I fell completely in love with Jeremiah Fisher in the first two books. He was so sweet, amazing, and absolutely PERFECT for Belly. When it got to the third book, though, he COMPLETELY CHANGED. He turned into a complete jerk and totally different than he had been from the first two books. I was so mad how he wasn't the same perfect Jeremiah anymore and how he was annoying and mean. It was like his character just switched with Conrad's (his brother). Ughh I was so mad the entire time I was reading because I was like, how could an author just completely change her characters without so much as an explanation?? I still love Jeremiah, I just choose to ignore the existence of the third book :)

  4. Well... I guess characters grow, just like people. They don't stay the same.

Thank you so much for checking my FF and for following me! ^^ I was following you long before :)

  5. Oh I had forgotten about Belly but you are absolutely right! I was so interested in this series when I started it--oh how nice a series about the summer when a girl realizes she is pretty (and not just one of the boys). But OMG--love triangles involving brothers just be banned!

Goodness I am getting on my soapbox again. I can go on and on about this topic. LOL :)

  6. I haven't read the last two books in the series so I tried not to read the reason why you don't like Jeremiah! For my FF I wrote about Conrad :

  10. Thanks for stopping by, I haven't read this series, but I hate it when a character suddenly seems to change into someone else at some point in a series. It always feels like such a cheat!

  13. That is EXACTLY what I thought!! I was team Jeremiah all the way, until the author made him a jerk just so the reader would like Conrad better. *Sigh* :/

  16. I don't think I've heard of that series. But I definitely agree. Completely changing a character after two books would irritate me too.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  17. I think that's the consensus with Jeremiah. I haven't read these books but when I do (which I plan to!) I'll be more aware of the switch up!
