Sometimes, love isn’t easy…

The attraction between them was undeniable. Yet the past he’d worked so hard to overcome, and the future she’d put so much faith in, threatened to tear them apart.

Only together could they fight the pain and guilt, face the truth—and find the unexpected power of love.

Review: I'm just so sad right now. After reading five star review after five star review for this book, I knew I just had to get my hands on it. When I finally got around to reading it, I found myself completely missing the phenomenal contemporary new adult book everyone was raving about.

Jacqueline is likable enough...She's a music education major in college where she goes with her boyfriend of three years. Halfway through the first semester, though, her boyfriend decides he wants to date other girls for a while so that he can get it "out of his system." Jacqueline, who had followed him to school, is devastated and stops going to classes for two weeks straight. When she finally decides to face society and go out to a halloween party with her roommate, though, things change drastically; Jacqueline is almost raped by one of her exes friends until a dark and mysterious stranger (who just so happens to be in the Econ class she shares with her ex), comes to the rescue. Jacqueline has to learn to get over her heartbreak, find who she really is on her own, and learn more about her knight in shining armor, who holds some secrets of his own.

The story itself wasn't all that bad, there were just way too many things that bothered me about this book. First, I was beyond annoyed that Jacqueline would miss TWO WHOLE WEEKS of college classes and only be on the cusp of failing one. And for that class, all she has to do is tell the professor she broke up with her boyfriend and he completely understands. Yeah. Right. No professor I've ever had would take that excuse. The other thing that bothered me was Lucas. He's supposed to be this dreamy bad boy that all of the girls fall over. Except that he has a lip ring, is covered in tattoos, and has longish hair. I'm sorry, but that doesn't sound swoon-worthy to me. And how the author constantly describes girls doing a double take at Lucas and guys doing double takes at Jacqueline and her roommate is just ridiculous. The way she describe random people fawning over the main characters made them sound conceited and annoying.

Not only did I have some issues with the characters, but the plot seemed to drag on in the middle. I found myself falling asleep numerous times while reading. Granted, this happens to me a lot because I read at night, but I'm talking about in the morning and afternoons...which doesn't happen to me all that often. I wish there was more going on other than Jacqueline passing her classes with no problem (classes that have absolutely nothing to do with her major) despite the fact that she skips class, does a TON of extra curriculars, and spends every other waking moment either with a guy, at a party, or thinking about a guy.

So needless to say, this book was a huge disappointment. i don't really understand how people fell head over heels in love with this story. The characters would get annoying and the story was slow and hard to believe. Maybe it's because I'm a sophomore in college as well, so I'm a little more judgmental, but Easy just did not hit the spot for me.
