Release Date: March 18, 2014
Source: Barnes and Noble
Summary: From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance.

At twenty-two years old, Sydney has a great life: She's in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her best friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter's cheating on her--and she is left trying to decide what to do next.

Sydney becomes captivated by Ridge, her mysterious neighbor. She can't take her eyes off him or stop listening to the passionate way he plays his guitar every evening out on his balcony. And there's something about Sydney that Ridge can't ignore, either. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one

Review: Oh. My. Gosh. I knew that this book was going to be good. I mean, it's Colleen Hoover. But I didn't expect this book to become one of the best books I've ever read.

Sydney is happy with her life. She's a 21-year-old college student with a comfortable boyfriend, best friend, and a steady job. But on her 22nd birthday, she finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her with her best friend and her life is turned upside down. All of a sudden, Sydney finds herself homeless and with no on to turn to. So when the gorgeous guy from the apartment complex across the quad offers her a place to stay, Sydney knows she can't turn it down. She's noticed Ridge for awhile now as she's listened to him playing his guitar on his balcony, but once Sydney begins to learn more about the man beneath the passionate music, she discovers a man who understands her more than anyone ever has before.

I just don't know where to start. This is the kind of book that I literally could not put down, and I mean literally. I was at an intense part and my sister tried to discuss Christmas cookies with me and I told her to go away so that I could read. Yeah, she wasn't happy but I just HAD to know what would happen next! This is the kind of book that grabs your heart and just wrenches it. I became so connected to Sydney and Ridge and I was on the emotional roller coaster of their relationship right along with them. There are so many emotionally intense moments, moments that are never forced but rather completely realistic and utterly heartbreaking. There's no right way to go about their relationship and it's so hard to watch them try to deal with their feelings while dealing with everything else going on in their lives.

Obviously, the romance was utterly amazing and heartbreaking, but the characters had their lighthearted moments that made them so lovable. I loved Sydney and Ridge's banter and the "flaws" they forced themselves to reveal to each other. I laughed out loud more than once in this novel and I couldn't get enough of the banter between all of the characters, especially with Ridge's two roommates. Every character had a purpose and all had their own place in the book. I only wish we got to know more about Ridge's brother when he came to visit instead of a hazy, drunken memory from Sydney. Other than that, though, the characters were perfect and I loved them all. Even the characters I really wanted to hate because they were messing things up between Sydney and Ridge I couldn't help but love. Ugh, Colleen Hoover definitely knows how to put on the feels and create a seriously intense book!

Can I rave any more about this book? I devoured this story and when I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it and dying to know what would happen next. There was just so much heartache and love in this book and it's unlike any romance I've ever read before. And the music! I loved how Ridge and Sydney wrote music together and fell in love even more because they worked on such an intimate process together. Their songs opened up their feelings and said what they were afraid to admit to each other. I could go on and on and on about how much I loved this book. I'd have to say that Maybe Someday is not only one of my favorite books of the year, but definitely one of my favorite books of all time. You HAVE to read this book and fall in love with Ridge and yet another heartbreakingly beautiful story from Colleen Hoover.
