The Catastrophic History of You and Me
By Jess Rothenberg
Release Date: February 12th
Summary: Dying of a broken heart is just the beginning.... Welcome to forever. BRIE'S LIFE ENDS AT SIXTEEN: Her boyfriend tells her he doesn't love her, and the news breaks her heart—literally.
But now that she's D&G (dead and gone), Brie is about to discover that love is way more complicated than she ever imagined. Back in Half Moon Bay, her family has begun to unravel. Her best friend has been keeping a secret about Jacob, the boy she loved and lost—and the truth behind his shattering betrayal. And then there's Patrick, Brie's mysterious new guide and resident Lost Soul . . . who just might hold the key to her forever after.
With Patrick's help, Brie will have to pass through the five stages of grief before she's ready to move on. But how do you begin again, when your heart is still in pieces?
We always hear of people breaking their hearts, but I've never imagined someone literally dying from one. I'm intrigued to see how this happens with Brie and how her family reacts to her dying. I really want to know what the big secret her best friend was keeping from her about Jacob and what the big deal with I'm is. The story of a ghost falling in love with their "guide" is a little cliche, but I've never thought cliche love stories were a bad thing :) The cover is really pretty too, with her body floating kind of ghost-like. This one sounds like a great read, so hopefully I can get my hands on a copy when it comes out!
Awesome choice! I have this on my list too and I can't wait to read it. Hopefully February will be here before we know it :)
