This is a meme hosted every Friday by Parajunkee, where book bloggers answer a question each week and check out how others answered it. It's a cool way for bloggers and viewers to connect and learn more about each other!
Question: When you've read a book, what do you do with it? (Keep it, give it away, donate it, sell it, swap it..?)
Answer: Ummm can I just say that whoever gives away all of the books they read is crazy. CRAZY!
I keep probably 90% of the books I read that I either bought or got for review. I only get rid of the ones I really didn't like because my library has probably quadrupled since I've started this blog. Seriously, by the time I move out and get my own house, I am going to have to have an entire floor dedicated to my books. Or it'd look something like this:
But you know what? Seeing this many books make me so excited because they would all be MINE. There's just something about seeing all of the books I own that makes me proud to own so many. No matter what mood I'm in, there will always be a book for me to read. If I was locked in my house because of a snow storm or something, I would never get bored because I'd have an endless supply of books in my hands. So back to the question. When I'm done reading a book, I put it with all of my other books, right where it belongs. I'm pretty sure I'm physically incapable of voluntarily getting rid of any of my books. But I don't think there's absolutely anything wrong with that :)
There's just something very rewarding about seeing a full bookshelf. Just staring at them remembering each and every one of those stories brings a big smile to my face. I so NEED a wall of books like the pic above lol
ReplyDeleteThat is THE BEST whatever those this are called EVER of the Deppster.

I love this! My husband and I were joking that I'd have a big wall-shelf like that, where I'd need a ladder to get to the top. Little does he know how cool that would be! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy FF!
I think I would be a secret hoarder if my library wasn't so close to home. Thanks for hopping by and new follower now.
ReplyDeleteI agree, they are crazy to give away books! Love your blog, thanks for the follow! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so with you! It's like I have extreme separation anxiety when it comes to my books. It's gotten worse since I bought a house in a tiny town without a library (despite the fact that I work in a library elsewhere). Something about the proximity...maybe I'm just making excuses. ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!

I understand the sentiment, but I only keep my favs. Too little room!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you about owning books and how cool it is seeing them all. I do get rid of some of mine but it's a tiny percentage and I have to really HATE a book to part with it.
ReplyDeleteUnless they're ARCs for books that I absolutely LOVED, or I'm going to meet the author, I give them away to fellow bloggers or just as a giveaway. Most of the time I keep the books I buy, but space is limited! I can only keep so many :(
