She's everywhere.

Ex-wife.

Love of his life.

The last person in the world he wanted to see...ever.

And now that he's working beside her every day, he can't escape her. Her scent, glimpses of her smile, even the tension in the air that makes his body hum with the kind of need he'd only experienced with one person-all of it is driving him over the edge.

Brant Wellington was certain of three things:

Alcohol wasn't going to solve this.

He really was losing his F-ing mind.

And his gorgeous ex-wife was going to be the death of him.

I own quite a few books by Rachel Van Dyken, but I think this is the first book I've ever picked up by her. This sounded like a sweet, emotional second chance romance and I couldn't wait to dive in.

Nikki's life is as good as it's going to get. Since losing her sight and her ex-husband, Brant, she's settled for working as a masseuse at a prestigious hotel with her best friend, Cole. The last time she saw Brant, they were both broken beyond repair and he never came back to fix her. When Brant shows up at the hotel to check the staff and amenities, the last person he expects to see is his ex-wife. He can never forgive himself for what he put her through and he'll do anything to leave her alone. But Nikki is everywhere and Brant soon realizes the only way to fix them both is to show her the kind of man he can be that is worth her love.

From the first page, this book was emotional. And I mean REALLY emotional. These two characters went through so much pain together and it was so sad watching them relive that pain every time they were around each other. Every flashback sprinkled throughout this story made my heart ache and I wished I could just hug Nikki and Brant. I've got to say, though, that the moment we met Brant in the present, I really wasn't a fan. And as the story went on and he was quite the jerk to everyone, including Nikki, I continued to dislike him. Even when he started to grovel for Nikki's love again, I had no sympathy for him and didn't really want Nikki to even think about giving him a chance again.

I really did love Nikki's best friend, Cole, and their fun relationship. It was so sad watching Nikki wish she could just fall for someone like Cole because it would make life so much easier. Cole was so funny and it was entertaining how he would flirt with Nikki and ask her out just to make her smile. The rest of the staff we met were so nice and Brant's family was definitely entertaining!

While I loved Nikki, Brant was so hard for me to like and, even when we got to the end, I didn't think he redeemed himself in my eyes. This really did hit you in the feels from the first page, though, and delivered an emotional second chance romance between two people who broke each other and are trying to be whole again.
