This is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where each week bloggers share a list of books for the prompt given. So hopefully I'll have a new list to share with you all each week!
This Week's Topic: Top Ten Topics That Instantly Make Me Buy/Pick Up A Book
Ooooh, this one is fun! There are a lot of topics that make me super happy when I read books about them, so I'll be more likely to pick up other books about the same topic. Here are some subjects that are my favorites, along with the books I quite enjoyed/own with the intention of reading because of it...
1. Baking/In Bakeries
2. Clubs/Societies
3. Sports
4. Knitting
5. Paris
6. Reading/Books/In Bookstores
7. Travel
8. Cooking/In Restaurants
9. ANY historical romances
10. Retellings/literary references

I had not even heard of Heidi Bett before, but I can see I shall have to remedy that! I've added "Tangled in Love" to my to-read list on Goodreads. Thanks for the heads up!

I should definitely read more books set in/revolving around book stores! And I agree, there are certain cities I'm drawn to reading about ^^ Apart from Paris that's Prague, San Francisco, London, and Tokyo for me. Great list, I'll check out the 24-hour-bookstore one now! Thanks for stopping by earlier :)
ReplyDeleteWe have some similar answers like retellings and sports. I haven't read alot of the books you featured so I'm adding them to my to-read list. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSports made my list too, and I agree on traveling!

I love, LOVE your list! I also enjoy books with food/baking except they always have me craving food like crazy (like Sweetly). And I didn't even think of clubs/societies. Great picks!
ReplyDeleteGreat list Jessica! I love books about Paris too. Anna was one of my favorites! Travel and historical romances are always great too!

Great list! Bookends by Jane Green is one of my favorites! Thanks for stopping by my TTT.
ReplyDeleteI agree with seven of the things you've listed here! =D I had an Aha moment when I read Heidi Betts. I read that series a couple of years ago! Darn that I only borrowed them at the library :( I don't have my own copy. I'm feeling a bit nostalgic now... lol!
ReplyDeleteThis is the right blog for anyone who wants to find out about this topic. You realize so much its almost hard to argue with you (not that I actually would want…HaHa). You definitely put a new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Great stuff, just great!
