“Powerful, gripping, unflinchingly honest and sensuously gorgeous writing.”
-- Kristan Higgins, New York Times Bestselling Author
The Kingmaker, the first book in the addicting All The King’s Men Duet, from RITA ® Award-winning author Kennedy Ryan, is available now!
Power. Passion. Betrayal.
Kennedy Ryan delivers the epic first installment of the All the King's Men Duet.
Raised to rule, bred to lead and weaned on a diet of ruthless ambition.
In a world of haves and have nots, my family has it all, and I want nothing to do with it.
My path takes me far from home and paints me as the black sheep. At odds with my father, I'm determined to build my own empire. I have rules, but Lennix Hunter is the exception to every one of them. From the moment we meet, something sparks between us. But my family stole from hers and my father is the man she hates most. I lied to have her, and will do anything to keep her. Though she tries to hate me, too, the inexorable pull between us will not be denied.
And neither will I.
Kennedy Ryan is truly a rare gem in the romance community. I love every book I've read by her, not only because of the romance but also because of the social commentary she always includes. Kennedy Ryan isn't afraid to tackle real issues in today's society and her newest release is no different.
Right off the bat, I was entranced with Lennix's character and her deep love for her Native American heritage. What happened to the Native Americans ever since the Europeans settled in American is a crime and it still continues today. Lennix's character embodies the social injustices against the Native American population and I loved her passion for her people and for those who are marginalized.
Beyond Lennix's characters, I absolutely loved the depth and complexity of the romance. This romance spans years and we get to see Lennix as a teenager, as a woman in her early 20s, and as a woman in her 30s. Her relationship with Maxim was a whirlwind and it was so hard to see it go through the hardships that it did. I was rooting for them the entire time, no matter the mistakes Maxim made. What hit me the most, though, was that ending and I'm already dying for book two. Once you reach that last page, this book will leave you thinking and demanding more.
If you want a romance that gives you the emotions you crave and the social commentary this world needs, you have to pick up Kennedy Ryan. No one delivers angst and emotion as much as Kennedy Ryan does!

There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.
