Author Ella Fox - “Hands down one of the best student/teacher books I've ever read. Remi & Pierce delighted me from beginning to end.”

Between the Bookends - “This was seriously one of the best student/teacher books I have read.”

Remington Stringer has never been like most girls. She’s outspoken, brazen and wants nothing more than to escape the Nevadan hell hole that she calls home.

On the brink of eighteen, with a deceased mother and a well-meaning, yet absent father, she is forced to fend for herself. The only person she’s ever had to depend on is her borderline obsessive stepbrother, Ryan. But, what used to be her anchor is quickly becoming a loose cannon.

When Remi gets the opportunity to attend the best private school in the state during her senior year of high school, she jumps at the chance. Then she meets Mr. James. Ornery, aloof, and totally irresistible.

Most girls would swoon in secrecy.

Most girls would doodle his name with hearts in their notebook.

But Remi Stringer has never been like most girls.

Honestly, I was interested in this book when I read the synopsis, but I knew I had to read it when that cover was revealed. And I had no idea that Charleigh Rose was a secret author duo! I had never read anything by them, so I was definitely excited to pick up this book.

Remington Stringer knows that she wants to get out of her trashy town in Nevada, but she has no idea how. That is, until her father tells her he is sending her to a prestigious high school for her senior year. This school could be Remi's answers to going to a good college and making a future for herself, a future where she doesn't have to depend on her stepbrother who has been getting a lot more…friendly…lately. Remi will not let anything ruin her chance of a future, but when she meets Mr. James, her fiery side comes out and she finds it harder to resist him. Mr. James keeps as far away from Remi as he can until he finds he just can't stay away any more.

Have you ever read a book that you were utter trash for and just could not put down until you were done? Yeah, that was me for this book. While in real life teacher-student relationships are SO WRONG and SHOULD NEVER BE DONE, I was so in love with this story. It's fiction! So it's not real! But I absolutely loved the chemistry between Remi and Mr. James and how, outside of school, Remi was an equal with him because of how mature she was and how much she had gone through in her life.

While I loved how our main characters were equal, their chemistry was also through the roof and I was absolutely in love with it. They both knew that they shouldn't want each other, but the more time they found themselves near each other, the harder it was to ignore. I liked how Remi was a strong character and had to deal with a lot on her own and how she was the perfect person to push Mr. James as he was dealing with some demons of his own.

Overall, I absolutely loved this book. There was insane chemistry and a strong storyline where I was really hopping Remi could find a good future for herself. This is definitely not a light, quick romance, but instead it's a complex, addicting romance that you'll find yourself reading for both the story and the chemistry. I couldn't recommend it enough!
