Audition
By Stacia Ward Kehoe
Release Date: October 13th
Summary: When high school junior Sara wins a coveted scholarship to study ballet, she must sacrifice everything for her new life as a professional dancer-in-training. Living in a strange city with a host family, she's deeply lonely-until she falls into the arms of Remington, a choreographer in his early twenties. At first, she loves being Rem's muse, but as she discovers a surprising passion for writing, she begins to question whether she's chosen the right path. Is Rem using her, or is it the other way around? And is dancing still her dream, or does she need something more? This debut novel in verse is as intense and romantic as it is eloquent. This book looks so freaking good!!! I saw it on someone's IMM a couple of weeks ago and looked it up to see if I could reserve it and saw that it doesn't come out until October! I was really jealous that they already have a copy while I'm stuck writing about it on my WoW this week because it sounds really good. I love anything that has to do with dance like the Step Up movies, So You Think You Can Dance, and Fame (even though I can't dance at all!). I've read a couple of books about dancers, but there doesn't really seem to be that many, which is really sad. So I'm really looking forward to reading this book once it comes out! Hopefully it'll be as good as I think it is!
Ooo, looks good! Reminds me of the movie Save the Last Dance. Good pick! :)

This reminds me a bit of Stephanie Perkin's books for some reason - I think it's the cover - but that's not a bad thing to be reminded of her. It sounds totally cute and actually a little introspective. Great choice! Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteHmm, never really read any dance-related books, but I think it is time that I give them a chance.

This does sound good! I hate when I see books in people's IMMs that aren't out for months yet. I always get jealous of their ARC collecting abilities :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my WoW! I'm following you now :)
Jess @ The Midnight Bookworm
This sounds quite different! Could be a great read! Although I'm not that keen on Verse writing, so I'll have to wait and see!

ReplyDeleteGreat pick! This one sounds SO good - it totally reminds me of that movie "Center Stage." I love that one. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read that author, but sounds like a good story. And I love the cover! Hope you can get a copy soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my WoW earlier!

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog!
i've chosen this one for my wow before too. it looks great!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog :).
ReplyDeleteIf you want a book about a dancer you can give Raven by Allison van Diepen. The main character is a break dancer and she's in a break dancing group, the downside to the book is that it uses break dancing terms instead of describing a move so unless you know the terms you're going to have a hard time picturing what's going on.
On this book I've seen this around before, maybe if you're lucky you can get your hand on an arc :)

I love that cover! And written in verse? That alone makes it sound super interesting! Thanks for stopping by my WoW! :)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds interesting. Hope you enjoy!

I love ballet books! Plus I love how subtle but pretty the cover is! Great choice!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good one - I don't think I've read a book about a dancer before.
ReplyDeleteThis book DOES sound amazing! I love things revolving around dance -- even though I have no rhythm in my body whatsoever -- but I haven't really read books about it before (mostly just watched movies). I'm definitely picking this one up when it comes out! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome pick for your WOW, Jessica!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Looks like a great book!
ReplyDeleteSounds really good!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting :D
Young Readers
Thanks for stopping by. This book looks great!
ReplyDeleteThis one looks great! Thanks for mentioning it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I've seen Audition floating around the blogosphere a bit. A novel in verse about a dancer sounds pretty different from other YA books these days!

ReplyDeleteWow. That cover puts me off a bit, I'll admit, but the premise sounds amazing. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

This one looks super fabulous! I can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteJessica, thanks for dropping by my blog for my WoW (Soul Thief). This book looks very interesting. I graduated from a performing arts high school (like in Fame) and am also interested in movies about dance - although I haven't read many books about it.
ReplyDeleteNice WoW choice! :)
It does look like a really good book. New follower.
