Stacking the Shelves (96)

Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews where bloggers share what they got throughout the week!

From Book Sale

Have I mentioned I love book sales? Because I love book sales. Haha, seriously! First, the library was having their monthly book sale and I got Gone Girl for only $2! I really want to read it before the movie comes out! Then, the next 5 books I got for only 50 cents at a bookstore that's closing down. All of their hardbacks are $1 and paperbacks are $.50. How awesome is that? I had to restrain myself from going crazy, and I'm very proud of myself for only spending $3 there. I know I don't need more books, and adding only those 6 to my collection isn't too bad! I got some awesome books that I've been dying to read, so I can't wait to finally get into them!

That's it for me! What did you all add to your shelves this week?

  1. Several of my co-workers talked me into reading Gone Girl. I'm about half way through and had to put it on hold to read a few ARCs I promised I would review. I hope to get back to it soon.

I hope you enjoy all of your new books. Here is my STS: http://www.jacquesbooknook.blogspot.com/2014/04/stacking-shelves.html

  2. Yay for Jane Eyre - such a great book and one I definitely need to reread soon :)
I've been meaning to read Gone Girl pretty much since it was published, but I still haven't got around to do so - maybe during the summer break. Definitely before the film comes out though :)

Happy reading and have a good weekend!

  5. Wow! You seem to get a lot of luck with these book sales! I don't think my libraries know about them honestly! Haha! And if I do see any books for sale, they literally look like stereotypical library ones, all old and moldy looking...okay not real moldy, by you know, the cliched dusty old, library book.

    Happy Reading!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

  6. That's really cheap, I wouldn't have been able to restrain myself! The last time I was at a book sale I had to cart back a load of hardbacks on two buses, ergh. :/

  10. WOW. You got some GREAT classics! "Jane Eyre" is my favorite classic of ALL TIME!! "The Grapes of Wrath": and "Middlesex" are, of course, masterpieces. I read TGW a long time ago, but I know that the other one is very highly regarded in academic circles, so I really must read it!!

I have vaguely heard of "Gone Girl", but must find out more. "French Lessons" is entirely new to me, so I'll have to check it out on Goodreads. As for "Pride and Prejudice with Zombies", I really wish it had been "Pride and Prejudice with Vampires", since I prefer them to zombies. Lol.

CONGRATS on getting all of these at such low prices!! That tells me that I have to visit my local library more often! Hee, hee....

Hope you enjoy them all!! Thanks for sharing!! : )

  12. I read Pride and Prejudice and zombies and thought it was a decent read, even though I hated the Jane Austen book! Decent zombie fun in it. Happy reading!
