Stacking the Shelves (87)

Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews where bloggers share what they got throughout the week!

From Amazon

I have to read Rule of the Bone for my methods education class this semester, and my teacher is absolutely obsessed with this book. He read it with his students every year when he was a high school English teacher and said that this book will change your life. So I guess we'll see how it goes!

From the library

For my Jane Austen Book Club, we're reading Wuthering Heights for the next meeting and I am so excited. I read it over four years ago in AP Lit and loved it, so hopefully I'll feel the same reading it again. For my YA Lit class this semester, the second book we have to read is a sci-fi (our first was a romance), so I decided to go with Cinder. I've been dying to read Cinder for forever, and now I have an excuse to finally force myself to read it. I can't wait to see if it's as awesome as everyone says it is! The last two I picked up after browsing through the library (which I really shouldn't do since I have so much to read already…). I've heard great things about them, so I decided to try them out if I can find the time!

That's it for me! What did you all add to your shelves this week?

  9. Ooo, Cinder! I enjoyed that one, but I never actually read Scarlet (or Cress). I don't know why - I guess I didn't like it enough to keep reading. I tend to not finish series a lot. Oh well :o

    Have a fabulous weekend!

    Check out my STS post!

  22. I'll have to check out Rule of the Bone. I just got my M.Ed to be an English teacher, so I'm always on the lookout for what other English teachers teach. I love Nick Hornby. I really enjoyed About a Boy and am completely unsure of how I feel about this new show. We'll see. Great haul!

  23. Ummm, I read Rule of the Bone in college too, and though I enjoyed it, it didn't change my life. That is a bit of an exaggeration. I hope you enjoy it though!

    Yay for Cinder!
