I'm so thrilled to announce that today I have the lovely Caroline Cooney here to share an interview and giveaway to my amazing readers! Caroline started her Janie Johnson series with The Face on the Milk Carton in 1990 and she's back with her final Janie novel. And here she is to talk about her latest 2013 release Janie Face to Face!
Why did you
decide to write about Janie in college?
I love Janie
and Reeve. I wanted to find out what they had chosen to do with their
lives and if they were the strong and good people I hoped they would be.
I wanted to write another fast moving suspense story. I wanted to find
out who Janie’s kidnapper was, and why she had committed that crime.
Janie Face
to Face is the final installment of the
Janie series. How do you feel about finishing such a successful series?
It was such
fun and such a surprise. I never expected to write a second Janie book,
never mind a fifth.
Where do
you draw your inspiration from when you write?
It’s a
mystery. I love to write, I always seem to have plenty to say, the plots
and ideas crowd me out of my bed in the morning and send me rushing to the
keyboard.
What do you
do when you're not writing?
I
read. Lots of mystery, lots of history. I love to walk, play the
piano, play cards, see friends, sing in choirs, go to church, and enjoy my
grandchildren.
What's your
favorite color?
I like orange and red and yellow. Hot
colors. I have an orange chair and a crimson sofa in my living room, and
orange paintings.
What's your
favorite book and why?
I read by
the armload. I don’t have favorite books or even favorite authors.
I have favorite libraries and favorite bookstores!
What can we
expect next from you?
I’m writing
an historical novel, after a year of research and travel, about the
children in England who will eventually sail on the Mayflower. Their
stories are so exciting, so dramatic, so tragic. I can’t wait for my
readers to find out what the founding children were like.
I want to thank Caroline so much for being a guest on Peace Love Books today! It's so amazing how far the Janie series has gone in the past twenty series! Here's a little bit more about the final installment:
