Review: Normally, I'm not a fan of novellas or short stories. They always seem too short and I'd rather have the full experience of a novel with fleshed out characters and a story I can get lost in for hundreds of pages. But when I saw that When We Met contained four stories from some of my favorite new adult authors and that the stories were about a group of girls living in the same house, I thought I'd give it a try.

Four girls with four very different pasts decide to live together in a house off campus for their junior year of college, each one of them healing from old wounds or broken hearts. Junior year promises to be a fresh start and each girl finds themselves falling in love when they least expect it.

Behind Her Eyes by AL Jackson
Out of all of the stories, this one was my least favorite. The problem? The insta-love. Darryn was obsessed with Misha and fell in love with her after seeing a video of her that her horrible ex-boyfriend had made without her permission. I'm sorry, but his intense infatuation with her was a bit too strong too soon and I found it a bit creepy how he talked about watching her in the video. Other than that, though, I thought it was sweet how slow Darryn took things and allowed Misha to heal from the hurt she had recently experienced. 3/5 stars

Saving Me by Molly McAdams
Molly McAdams is the only author in this book that I have not read a full novel from, but if she writes anything like she did for this story, I am sure missing out! This was by far my favorite story in the collection and I instantly fell in love with Kier and his silent, caring ways. He was so, so sweet and when he opened up about his past to Indy, I fell for him even harder. I loved how he was there to take care of Indy, even when she didn't know it. Indy was having a hard time coping with not feeling wanted, especially with how her boyfriend broke up with her, and she definitely needed someone like Kier in her life to see that not everything is as bad as it seems. *sigh* I totally wouldn't mind a whole novel about those two! I want more Kier! Now! 5/5 stars

Fouling Out by Tiffany King
Yay, sports! As a complete sucker for any sports romances, I was definitely excited to read this story. I loved how Dalton was this huge college basketball star and Courtney could care less about his all-star status on campus. The past between Courtney and Dalton added a whole new level to their relationship and it definitely changed the way Dalton viewed his life after Courtney came back into it. Dalton was so adorable in his cocky athlete way and it was fun how he went after Courtney and tried to make her let him make up for his past mistakes, even if those mistakes were made when he was only 11 or 12 years old. Courtney has so much on her plate between work and classes that a guy is the last thing she needs on her mind, especially Dalton, but he worms his way into her head and makes a point to Courtney that unlike when they were kids, he's not leaving anytime soon. 4/5 stars

Beneath Your Layers by Christina Lee
As the last one in the collection, I think Chloe was the perfect person to close these girls' stories. Chloe really doesn't like Blake and sees him as a college drop out who is going nowhere in life. Little does she know, he has family obligations he's decided to put first and still has a dream to return to school and do what he loves. Oh, and he totally has a thing for her even if he pretends he thinks she's a pretentious snob. I loved it when Blake and Chloe were forced to work together on her popup shop and really got to know each other. Their continuous game of truth or dare was so fun and let Chloe come out of her uptight shell a little bit and finally let loose. Blake was definitely a catch and I liked how loyal he was to those he loved and how he was anything but a failure. They definitely soon realized how thin the line between love and hate really is. 4/5 stars.

Overall, this was a really cute book and it flew by way too fast. I loved how each of the girls from the other stories popped up in each other's stories so that everything flowed really nicely and connected to each other so that it really felt like I was reading one book. The romances were sweet and I definitely have a crush on Kier now, my favorite of the four boys we get to meet. As for the girls, they are all so different, but also lovable in their own ways. And I loved how we got the point of views from both the guys and the girls throughout the entire book. If your a fan of new adult, you should definitely get yourself a copy of When We Met. Four amazing authors have come together to create sweet, sexy, and emotional stories about four housemates learning how to open up their hearts and fall in love.
