This is a meme hosted every Friday by Parajunkee, where book bloggers answer a question each week and check out how others answered it. It's a cool way for bloggers and viewers to connect and learn more about each other!
Question: What's the most unique character name you've come across?
Answer: Hmmmm, I think I'd have to go with Cricket from Lola and the Boy Next Door. I've definitely never read a book where the main guy had that name. I think that made him even more unique and memorable! Here's a picture of him I stumbled upon on someone's blog :)
Or you can just go with the picture of him on the cover of the book...
Either way, his name just seems to fit. Cricket is a strange choice for a name, but it totally embodies his character in the book. Even if the name is strange, as long as it captures the character, it can end up adding even more to their charm.
I think the name Cricket is a great pick. It did seem to fit the character perfectly. Old follower just hoppin' through. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI've seen this name on a post already tonight! I must say I have not read this book [though I am dying too] but I can't wait to see what this Cricket is like. That name is epic so I hope he will be too.

Cricket is a strange name. Especially for a boy. Good choice.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. I love Harry Potter names too! I've seen one other person named Hermione I think. She was one of the voices in the Secret of Nimh movie. :-P

Waiting For Wentworth
I haven't read Lola yet but I think it may take me awhile to get over his name. When I heard it was Cricket, my eyes bugged a little...no pun intended. It's so odd and in a contemporary! But I love Stephanie's stories and will read it and inevitably fall for dear old Cricket.
ReplyDeleteOld Follower,
