Book Review: Bending the Rules by Susan Anderson

Summary: Poppy Calloway is a strong-willed woman who loves helping people, especially kids, so when the chance to help three kids from being thrown in jail for spray painting public property, she jumps at the chance. The only problem? Detective Jason de Sanges is assigned to help her. With a strong, physical attraction to each other, Jason fights off giving into any of the same instincts that brought the men in his family to a life in and out of jail. Being forced to work with the irresistible do-gooder Poppy may be what finally pushes him over the edge to break his rule of leaving emotions out of his life forever.

Review: Holy crap. Susan Anderson sure knows how to create the perfect man. Detective Jason de Sanges is a hot, caring, funny, hard-working man who has chemistry with Poppy Calloway that is so strong, it's undeniable from the moment they laid eyes on each other. Though the book started off slow (maybe because I didn't read the first book of the series), the storyline eventually picked up and pulled me in, captivating me with Poppy and Jason's relationship and their desire to help troubled teens in their neighborhood. I love contemporary romances and this book is one of the better one's that I've read. The characters are likable and plot is both original and engaging. Oh, and not to mention there's an extremely sexy guy who I could (and do) only dream of having as my own. So if you want a fun, light romance book to lay and out read, this should be one to consider. A good plot, hot romance, and sexy guy are really what makes this book a good read.

  2. Isn't it? I love it when books have new, interesting names instead of using the same old ones over and over again.
