Shelf Candy is a meme hosted by Five Alarm Book Reviews and every Saturday, bloggers choose a book whose cover really catches their eye. I know you're not supposed to judge a book by it's cover, but I always do, so I'm choosing books whose cover alone made me pick it up. So I hope you enjoy my shelf candy!
When I picture Juliet, I see a girl who is glowing with love. So when I look at this, I immediately ask why someone who is the character of one of the most famous love stories of all time is so sad. So I looked at the summary and see that this book is actually about Romeo murdering Juliet for his own immortality. Ah, now the cover makes sense. And it looks amazing! Her red dress really stands out against the water and rock, especially because the font matches that color. The whole setting is pretty and I can't get enough of it! The cover really drew me into looking up what this book was about and after reading the summary, this book is definitely at the top of my TBR list.
I love that cover too. It's sitting on my TBR waiting for me to read. I always get a little nervous of books with beautiful covers in case I don't like the story as much as the cover. Here's hoping this is a good one!
ReplyDeleteMy first ever Shelf Candy is here if you'd like a look :)
This cover is beautiful and I've heard good things about this book. I can't wait to read it.

Great cover! I want to know more about this girl. She seems deep in thought. I haven't read it yet, but I should clear it off my TBR and give it a read.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice, and I really like your explanation of what you thought of the cover...it shows that perfectly.
