Follow My Book Blog Friday (9)

This is a meme hosted every Friday by Parajunkee, where book bloggers answer a question each week and check out how others answered it. It's a cool way for bloggers and viewers to connect and learn more about each other!

Questions: Have you ever wanted the villain to win in the end of a story? If so, which one?

Answer:

This book was just so boring! No one got hurt and everything ended up okay in the end. I mean, in Harry Potter tons of people I loved died! Which made the book so much more powerful and meaningful. But in Breaking Dawn, the bad guys lost and the good guys won. I think if one of the Cullens had died, it would have been a lot better. There would have been a whole lot more emotion and shock felt by the readers, but instead there was just a predictable ending. I wouldn't necessarily want the villains to have won, but I would have at least wanted the winners to have a much harder time winning. Something unexpected definitely makes a book more fun to read!

  1. LOL. i love that you killed off a Cullen. but you're totally right. Breaking Dawn needed SOME sort of action (and tragedy).

  2. Excellent answer! A, what, 500-600 page book spends the first, oh 450 pages building up a battle. And it didn't happen! Deathly Hallows sticks in the minds of fans because it's true to life. People that you love die. If anything it just makes you realize how much you loved that character and therefore connect even more with the series.
And Draco and Hermione. Oh my. Most people just raise their eyebrows and turn the other way. But seriously, the fanfiction written for it is just so darn realistic that when I was reading it daily and then saw the next movie that came out I almost expected them to wind up together.

  3. You are so right about Breaking Dawn. The bow was tied a little too perfectly at the end of that one.

  5. Haha, cool one! You know, at some point it crossed my mind too. The only way to make this book interesting is to kill someone ;)

  8. Bella spend three books making hard choices, and then she gets everything she wants anyways. Blech.
    Which Cullen should we kill?

  9. Yeah, that's true. There really wasn't much of a struggle in twilight. Thanks for stopping by earlier! :)

  10. Old follower here for the hop. I don't think I would want any of the Cullens dead, but I agree with you, Breaking Dawn was a little dissapointing.

  11. I kind of agreed with you, but Breaking Dawn is not one of my favorite books.
    It was predictable at last.

  12. Hi Jessica,

Thanks for stopping by my Blog, i'm a new follower!

Without a doubt, Breaking Dawn did need more action, and killing off a Cullen is one way to get it.

    Have a great weekend!

  15. I'm not a person to change a good thing, so I wouldn't change any endings of good books.

  16. Thanks for the follow! and hahaha! I utterly agree. Though I liked the intital ending of BD with Edward finally reading Bella's mine, everything else just felt --- pointless.

  17. Killing off a Cullen?? *Gasp*

I love the idea - I don't think I'd have thought of that. But it definitely would have made such a long book so much more worth it.

  18. I agree with your post! I enjoyed Breaking Dawn- but everything was too nice and neat. In most of the HP books- someone near and dear dies- that is what kept me on my toes. Anything was possible!
