AFTER ALL hits all the requirements for the PERFECT SUMMER ROMANCE

Fun, light & sexy as sin, this STANDALONE contemporary romance from the NYT and USA Today bestselling author of The Pact and Before I Ever Met You, will make you laugh, blush and swoon your heart out.

Emmett Hill is the perfect gentleman.

At least that's what his PR team wants the world to think.

Tall, handsome, and wickedly charming, Emmett is in the midst of a career comeback, having landed the role of a villain in a popular TV show. The only problem is, Emmett has come a long way from the "nice guy" characters he used to play and his old squeaky clean image is quickly being tarnished by bar fights, womanizing and bad boy behaviour. Considering he's two years shy of forty, it's an act he needs to drop. And fast.

Enter Alyssa Martin.

At twenty-eight, Alyssa is tired and ready for a change. Her job as office manager has grown stagnant and unfulfilling, while she's become continuously frustrated with Vancouver's lackluster dating scene, always searching for Mr. Right in a city of Mr. Wrongs.

When Emmett and Alyssa's paths cross at a mutual friend's wedding, their chemistry is off-the-charts hot, culminating in a steamy one-night stand.

What neither expected was for the media catch wind of their coupling - and run with it.

Now Emmett has to convince Alyssa to date him for the sake of his image. Her curvy, cute and "normal" persona is just the ticket to smoothing out his reputation, while Emmett provides Alyssa with the excitement and change her life has been lacking.

The only problem is, the two fight like cats and dogs outside of the bedroom.

And considering their arrangement is just for show, they shouldn't be in the bedroom with each other anyway.

Right?

Try telling them that.
I love Karina Halle's books. She does romance so well and her contemporaries are always so fun. I couldn't wait to dive into another one!

Emmett Hill has a reputation problem. Making a comeback acting as the evil villain in a TV show, Emmett needs to be seen in a good light to the media and he's failing miserably at it. When he attends the wedding of one of his best friends, he's blown away by one of the bridesmaids and knows he wants her. Alyssa Martin feels like she's stuck in a rut at her job and is tired of dating all of the wrong guys. She's intrigued by Emmett, but doesn't want to date an actor or a guy with his reputation. But it's impossible to deny their chemistry and Emmett is definitely persistent when it comes to getting what he wants. Emmett soon realizes Alyssa could help him fix his image by "dating" a normal girl and the two enter a fake relationship that turns out to involve some not-so-fake feelings…

From the start, I knew this book would be fun. I loved how characters from another one of Karina Halle's novels (Before I Ever Met You) were in this book and we got to see the couple from that book happy as these characters tried navigating their own journey towards love. There was definitely chemistry between Emmett and Alyssa, but I loved how Alyssa tried to ignore that chemistry because she didn't think she could be with a guy like Emmett.

While I'm normally annoyed with books that involved fake dating (been there, done that), I really enjoyed this one. I think it's because both Emmett and Alyssa went in realizing that they really did like each other and had undeniable heat between them. I enjoyed watching Alyssa learn more about Emmett and understand why he was the way he was. It was so hard for them to deal with the media, but I enjoyed how they found comfort and strength in each other. Alyssa was such a strong character and it was fun how she was so close to her friends.

In the end, this was another fun, hot hit from Karina Halle. She knows how to create some sizzle between her characters and the romance was both fun and heartwarming. Contemporary fans are going to love Halle's writing and characters!
