A chance encounter in the dark leads eighteen-year-old Daniel and the girl who stumbles across him to profess their love for each other. But this love comes with conditions: they agree it will only last one hour and it will only be make-believe.

When their hour is up and the girl rushes off like Cinderella, Daniel tries to convince himself that what happened between them only seemed perfect because they were pretending it was perfect. Moments like that with girls like her don’t happen outside of fairytales.

One year and one bad relationship later, his disbelief in insta-love is stripped away the day he meets Six: a girl with a strange name and an even stranger personality. Daniel soon realizes the way he pretended to feel about Cinderella and the way he really feels about Six may not be so different after all. Especially when the two loves of his life end up being one in the same.

Unfortunately for Daniel, finding Cinderella doesn’t guarantee their happily ever after…it only further threatens it.

Freaking Colleen Hoover. I mean, seriously? This was only 90 pages long and probably one of the best stories I have ever read. Ugh, the characters and emotions that Colleen can put into her stories is just too much to handle, yet I can't stop reading them. And this novella? Perfection.

Daniel meets his Cinderella in the darkness of a maintenance closet. The one hour they spend together is unforgettable, but she disappears into the real world like Cinderella and Daniel never sees her again. One year later, Daniel is convinced no girl could ever live up to his Cinderella when he meets Six and finds himself falling head over heels for her from the moment he meets her. Daniel finds himself feeling those feelings all over again and may have found his Cinderella after all…

Holy moly, this book. While there is insta-love, it is done so well and I loved how much Daniel and Six fell for each other. Their relationship was so fun and I laughed out loud so much in this book. Along with the light hearted moments, though, I was also on the verge of tears during other moments. There was so much emotion in these 90 pages and I fell in love with Daniel and Six's characters. I hadn't even realized that this was in the world that Hopeless took place in, so it was a pleasant surprise when Sky and Holder showed up at some points. Holder and Daniel's relationship was hilarious and I loved the friendships we also got in this book.

When the emotions hit, though, they hit hard. I was so so so mad when I was nearing the end because I just wanted more of the story! Honestly, Colleen Hoover can do no wrong and creates these magical, heart wrenching stories that you just don't want to end.

  1. Loved this one! It was such an unexpected surprise. After Hopeless and Losing Hope I was dying for anything else from that group. But man, this one broke me down - hard. When Daniel learned the truth of what had happened with Six... OMG. Sobbing. I'm with you, how could CoHo make such an emotional impact in 90 pages? But then again she had me crying in the freaking prologue of Confess so obviously she's an evil genius. :)
